Victims’ Rights Speaker Series featuring Matthew Sandusky

On April 27, 2017 beginning at 6:30pm in the Blasco Library’s H.O. Hirt Auditorium, Crime Victim Center of Erie County will host our Victims’ Rights speaker series featuring Matthew Sandusky as the keynote speaker. Matthew Sandusky is the adopted son of Jerry Sandusky, the subject of one of the most publicized child sexual abuse cases in history. Matthew recently published his memoir, Undaunted and hopes that it will motivate others to prevent child sexual abuse and create a safe society for survivors to heal. Through the Peaceful Hearts Foundation, which Matthew founded with his wife Kim, he works to advocate for CSA survivors, raise awareness, and promote stronger legislation to fight child sexual abuse.  Matthew is committed to empowering and educating children to use their voices and help protect them against abuse. He is working with other advocates to implement an in-school curriculum to empower children to use their voices as a first line of defense, along with parents and teachers. Awareness and prevention education are the focus this year and we hope the public will walk away with a grasp of the impact that prevention can have in our community.

Seating is limited to the first 250 guests to register.
