Carol Finotti, Sexual Assault Counselor

Carol Finotti is a counselor with CVC. She specializes in sexual assault counseling with men, women and children and has 16 years of experience in her current position. Previously she worked at Gannondale, a residential facility for girls, as a counselor. She holds degrees in both Human Ecology and Law Enforcement from Mercyhurst College. A former member of the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, she has been a volunteer at the Erie Hotline and the Erie County Office of Children and Youth. Additionally, Carol helped author the sexual abuse initiative and was the sole author of the Crime Victim Center’s “Kids in Court” program.

Other special projects include working collaboratively in the Sex Offender Containment Committee (SOCC), which is a sub-committee of our local Criminal Justice Advisory Board. The SOCC looks at the needs of sex offenders and the safety of victims that are living in our community. As part of the SOCC, she also participates in monthly Multidisciplinary Team meetings. Carol also has been a member of the treatment teams for the sex offender programs for both our county and state supervised sex-offenders for the last 5 years.

Currently, Carol is involved in the Human Trafficking initiative. For the past year she has been working with other professionals and members of the community to spearhead a human trafficking coalition to create community awareness provide education and prevention programming as well as help facilitate prosecution of trafficking crimes. Although the group is in its’ infancy, they have gained broad participation with various community stakeholders including law enforcement.
