Human Awareness Ribbon
In observance of Sexual Assault Awareness month last April, CVC held a human awarenss ribbon ceremony at Frontier Park. Volunteers and CVC staff gathered to create the teal ribbon. WICU News did a live feed while the event was held.
Victims’ Rights Rally
To mark National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, Crime Victim Center of Erie County (CVC) held a Victims’ Rights Rally on April 24th in Council Chambers at City Hall. The event featured panelists from the DA’s office, local law enforcement and victims of crime from Erie County.
Each April since 1981, the Office for Victims of Crime has helped lead communities throughout the country in their annual observances of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf. The Office for Victims of Crime is a component of the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
This year’s theme was—Extending the Vision: Reaching Every Victim—and called us to expand the vision that inspired the movement and celebrate the progress achieved to date. It captured the spirit and resolve needed to realize our common goal of reaching each victim in need of hope and help, one victim at a time.
6th Annual Golf ‘Fore’ a Good Cause
On June 25th, CVC held their annual golf tournament at beautiful Riverside Golf Course. Despite the chilly conditions, a good time was had by all. Sponsors included: Erie Federal Credit Union, F&S Tool, Inc., Jekyll & Hyde Gastropub, Herr’s and many more! Thanks to everyone who made it a success!
